The Potchefstroom Amateur Radio Club (ZS6POT) promotes a culture of professionalism, respect, and responsible radio communication.
This Code of Conduct applies to all members and operators using club infrastructure.
All operators shall:
Properly identify using their callsign in accordance with ICASA regulations
Communicate in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner
Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or disruptive language
Keep overs concise and allow space for other operators
Refrain from commercial traffic on amateur bands
Operate strictly within their licence conditions and allocated bands
Club repeaters, digital networks, and online infrastructure:
Must not be misused
Must not be intentionally disrupted
Must be used responsibly and purposefully
Are not to be treated as personal property
DMR Time Slot 1 (TS1) is reserved for international dynamic talkgroups and must be used responsibly.
Members shall:
Treat fellow members with respect
Share technical knowledge constructively
Promote cooperation and mentorship
Protect the reputation of ZS6POT
Serious or repeated breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in:
Verbal or written warnings
Restriction of access to club infrastructure
Further action in accordance with club procedures
All actions will be handled fairly, objectively, and in the best interest of the club.
ZS6POT operates within ICASA regulations and SARL standards.
Individual members remain personally responsible for their licence compliance at all times.
